Bear Creek Reservoir is located in Eldorado National Forest near Carson Pass at an elevation of roughly 5,900 feet.. There is a wonderful area in which rock was blasted away for the dam in which you can collect. There is a rich assortment of minerals to be found among the granite and felspar. The last two images in this post show 2 roughly 1' by 6' areas on one massive boulder containing epidot sprays, muscovite, calchopyrite, lavender quartz and pink feldspar. *The boulder that housed it was too large and too difficult to chisel away at so there was no easy way to remove the minerals to add to our collection. Al along the ridge and on the slopes you can also find an abundance of large pyrite clusters and pristine feldspars.

John: I was going to upload the actual journal entry however I noticed while reading it that even I only understood small portions of it.
